Ned Stark

“Winter is coming”

– Lord Eddard Stark

Eddard Stark: Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. Stannis called him an honorable and stubborn man. Austin Powers would say “that’s not the way to get ahead in life” (*ducks tomatoes*). But however you slice it, he was a stand up dude and that’s why we want a Ned Stark costume. The landscape of the North represent how dark and brutal life can be in Westeros. Everything is so bleak and grey so close to the wall and what they wear reflects that. Animal furs, leather and steel are the mainstays of the North so it’s not too hard to get a good costume going if you want to represent House Stark.

Official replica costume and the alternative

There are two Ned Stark costume sections on this page. We have the official replica and an alternative. Just like the official Jon Snow costume, the replica comes highly recommended. It also comes at a higher price so we wanted to make sure you had options no matter your budget.

The Sword of Eddard Stark: Ice

Also mentioned in the Jon Snow section was the difference in swords. On this page we deal with the official sword because it is in fact a real sword (unsharpened). This is a quality sword and a big one at that. It’s well worth the money for the serious Game of Thrones fan. There’s also a latex LARP version that you’ll see on various sites, but we need to point out the difference. The “latex version” is $100 and and is basically a foam sword. The pictures can be deceiving and hearing stories from others who bought them, it was clear they weren’t aware of that. You can find them on many sites if you must have one, but pay attention to which version it is because unfortunately, some sites are less than obvious about it

“Closeup of Ice”

Ice is a type of sword referred to as a “great sword”. This massive blade needs to be wielded by two hands and since it’s made of Valyrian steel, it never needs sharpening.

We found this photo online of a replica owner standing with his “Ice”. As you can see it’s quite big and quality made.

Ned Stark Costume: The Official Replica

Everything you see in the following section is the official deal. Licensed by HBO to replicate the major keys to your Ned Stark costume. It’s pricy, but if you try and have pro cosplay makers create you one, it will cost more (even without sword). This is for the serious cosplayer who will get many uses out of their costume. Or just for the die hard fan who has to have the real deal.

If you’re going medieval, you’ll need a ring belt. This is a cheaper alternative to the official, but still a quality product.
